Your Job Is At Risk!
Families and businesses across our state are facing extremely difficult economic times and making hard budget decisions.
Legislators face a multi-billion state budget deficit. Cuts will no doubt be difficult, as they are for all of us in business and in our personal lives. But tax increases are not the answer. There are businesses on the financial edge all over the state and a tax increase now would halt any recovery. From Seattle to Spokane, citizens have begun to speak out against new taxes!
We need our legislature to pass a budget that funds priority services like education and infrastructure first with the money available. The Legislature must reject pressure to increase taxes.
Increasing taxes or imposing a new tax on services will hurt consumers and small businesses.
- Taxes on businesses and services just get passed on to consumers already struggling to make ends meet.
- Taxpayers can’t afford new or higher taxes, especially in this economy.
- Business taxes are just a hidden tax increase on consumers who are already struggling in this economy.
The economy is slowly improving, but higher taxes will jeopardize recovery efforts.
- Our economy’s bad, but it’s getting better. Taxes will slow recovery efforts and cost more jobs.
- New and/or higher taxes hurt small businesses, which are essential to economic recovery and job growth.
Government needs to stop overspending – not raise taxes.
- State Government needs to live within its means like the rest of us.
- Fiscal responsibility, not higher taxes, is the key to getting our state’s economy back on track.
